5 Places to sell your handmade jewellery

There’s only so much beaded jewellery that you can create without running out of space to store it in.  If you’re up to your eyeballs in your beautiful beaded creations why not try setting up shop and earning a little bit of cash from your fun hobby?

If you’re not sure how to go about selling your creations then we’ve come up with five of the best ways to sell handmade beaded jewellery.

Craft fairs

Research where the nearest local craft fairs and markets are held and sign up to get a stall on the day.  There is usually a small fee to pay to get a stall at a craft fair so make sure that you research the event beforehand to make sure that your stall would fit in and that the event attracts the right audience for your jewellery.

Social media

Social media is a great tool for promoting your jewellery and gaining a following of people interested in the products that you’re selling.  Set up a Facebook business page to find new customers and to interact and communicate with your existing ones.  Invite all of your friends to ‘like’ your Facebook page and once you’ve got a following you can start posting photos of your products and making sales through the page.

Sell to shops

Think of small boutique or independent businesses that share a similar image to the jewellery that you produce; these are the ones that you want to target.  Even if you don’t make a lot of profit it’s a great way of getting publicity.

Etsy

Etsy is an online marketplace specialising in handmade goods.  Anyone can sign up with the website and create their own online ‘shop’ where they can securely sell their handmade goods over the internet.  It’s also a great place to meet likeminded crafty people and promote your products.

Ebay

Using Ebay to sell your jewellery is a great way of easily reaching a very large audience.  Buyers and sellers alike will feel comfortable using Ebay as it is a trusted platform.  You can start off just listing a few items separately on your profile or open your own branded Ebay shop; it’s completely up to you!
